Synopsis: Briana will be explaining what cyber liability insurance covers, what situations this type of insurance would be useful in, and why it is important for technology-based businesses to have this type of coverage.

“Ransomware is and has been a scourge upon our houses for a while now. To quote The Ransomware Threat: A How-To Guide on Preparing for and Detecting an Attack Before it’s Too Late, “2016 is the year ransomware will hold America hostage. With the FBI estimating that losses to be incurred in 2016 will top $1 billion, how can you be sure you’re ready to face the ransomware threat?”

The July CyberDefender Workshop will be held at the Hacker Lab at American River College, Liberal Arts building, Room 128. The room should be open by 6:30, with the presentation starting at 7.

Parking permits are required. You may purchase a one-day permit for $2 from machines located in campus parking lots.
