CyberDefender Workshop, Wednesday, May 24, 6:30-9pm

CyberDefender Workshop

Location: Rancho Cordova Library Meeting Room, 9845 Folsom Blvd.
Date(s): Wednesday, May 24, 2017
Time: 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM

The CyberDefender workshops sponsored by ISSA Sacramento Valley Chapter give information security professionals hands-on experience with techniques, tools, and technologies that help protect critical information assets from malicious attack or unauthorized access. Bring your laptop and get ready to play! (You are welcome to come even if you don't have a laptop.)

This month's CyberDefender workshop provides an introduction to Oracle's Virtualbox virtual machine manager for Windows.  This tool allows you to create a lab environment to practice your ethical hacking skills.  This is the same software that will be used in future CyberDefender workshops.

Prerequisites:  Download and install Oracle’s Virtualbox for Windows on a laptop.  If you are running a flavor of Linux, you can install that version and you should be able to following along for the most part.

Be sure to RSVP (starting May 1) so we can set up enough chairs.
